NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Membership to the National Honor Society is extended to students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, who excel in the areas of academics, leadership, service, and character. For more information, please email dtoledo@belenjesuit.org.

To qualify for membership, the student must meet the following criteria:

• Be a sophomore, junior or senior
• Cumulative average of at least a 3.8
• Be enrolled in a minimum of 2 Honors or AP level courses the previous school year
• No grade lower than a 2 in conduct or effort on the final report card from the prior year.
• Satisfactory completion of the required Christian Service hours from the prior school year.
• Demonstrated notable accomplishments in the area of leadership and displays exemplary character.

To remain a member, a student must:

• Maintain a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.8
• Maintain a grade of 2 in both conduct and effort on the final report card for the academic year
• Complete a total of 35 hours of Christian Service (10 of those hours must be in NHS sponsored projects or events)
• Must attend at least 3 NHS meetings per semester
• Maintain a disciplinary record befitting a member of an honor society, demonstrating character and leadership
