Athletic Facilities at Belen

The athletic facilities at Belen Jesuit complement the excellent physical education program and interscholastic sports offered by the school. The Roberto Goizueta Athletic Center holds two basketball courts in addition to two outdoor basketball courts. The athletic center also houses coaches' offices, the training room, the wrestling room, and the weight room. In the summer, it is home to the summer camp office. The Gian Zumpano Aquatic Center and an outdoor basketball court is located on the west side of the campus. . The De la Cruz Stadium is where spectators gather to watch soccer matches, football games, and track & field competitions. The Newmeyer Family Scoreboard sits facing the stadium from the north. The concession stand and restrooms reside next to the scoreboard. The Hernandez Field is used by athletes who play soccer, lacrosse and football, and by track and cross-country runners. At the north end of the campus is the baseball facility, featuring two baseball fields, batting cages, and locker rooms. The athletic facilities at Belen Jesuit are top rate and give our student athletes all they need to succeed.

  • BASEBALL FACILITY

    The baseball facility was built in 2004. It includes batting cages, a middle school and varsity baseball field, locker rooms, and grandstand.
  • DE LA CRUZ STADIUM

    The De la Cruz Stadium is used for athletic competitions such as track & field, soccer and football games. It has hosted major events such as Regional Track and Field Championships, the All Catholic Conference Championships, and various classes District Championships. It has also been featured in commercials starring Mia Hamm and a documentary featuring former world record holder, Asafa Powell.
  • Gian Zumpano Aquatic Center

    Belen Jesuit's Gian Zumpano Aquatic Center is used by physical education classes, the swim team, the water polo team and during summer camp.
  • Hernandez Field

    Hernandez Field is a multipurpose facility. It features a synthetic field built by A-turf and a natural grass field. It also adds a quarter mile to the cross country course as well as shot put and discus rings to the track facility.
  • ROBERTO GOIZUETA ATHLETIC CENTER

    The Roberto Goizueta Athletic Center is the home of Belen Jesuit's athletic department. The building houses the athletic department office, a weight room, three locker rooms, the wrestling room, a training room, and a beautiful lobby. The gymnasium holds two full length basketball courts, and two full length volleyball courts. 
  • SANCHEZ FIELD

    In 2012, Belen Jesuit inaugurated Sanchez Field. The artificial turf field is the best in Miami and allows our student athletes the ability to use the field year round. Both, the soccer and football teams play their games on this beautiful field.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
