It has been an exciting summer at Belen Jesuit. We have moved full-throttle on a number of construction and beautification projects on campus. The Arroyo Quad is only a couple of months away from completion. This project is coming together nicely and we are excited for students to see our progress when they return to school.
Friday night under the lights at Belen will soon be a reality. The installation of the lights is underway, and if all goes well, we will be able to play our first night football game on Friday, September 6th against Doral Academy at 7:30 p.m. Save the date because we would love to see the De la Cruz Stadium filled to capacity.
The construction of the Our Lady of Belen Chapel is also in full swing. So far, crews have been clearing the grounds and relocating the trees to the athletic fields. Construction in this area will be ongoing throughout the school year and the anticipated completion date is in 2021.
Additionally, pavers have been installed around the grounds, the building has been painted and final touches to the newly remodeled Fides et Raio Patio (formerly known as the Science Pavilion Patio) have been completed. Café Belen, located near the athletics fields, is being remodeled and will reopen in September under new management by SAGE Dining Services.
Still on the horizon is the construction of the STEAM center, which will be located on the second floor of The Roberto Goizueta Athletic Center. Construction will begin during the fall and will be completed in time for the 2020-21 academic year.
These projects wouldn’t be happening if it weren’t for the generosity of many people. We continue to strive for greatness and need your help in achieving our goal.
