Major Gift Announcement: Olga Goizueta

Teresa Martinez | Director of Communications
Thanks to the foresight and generosity of Olga Goizueta, who remembered Belen Jesuit in her estate plans, we have received a gift of $1 million. This gift will be used to further enhance the goals set out in the Strategic Plan of the school by enhancing our diversity initiative and establishing a new scholarship endowment, the Olga and Roberto C. Goizueta Scholarship Fund.

“This gift, which is recognized as part of the ‘For the Greater Glory’ campaign, represents the love that our community has for Belen and the desire to see the school succeed and grow,” said Father Willie.

The Belen Legacy Society recognizes those individuals who have remembered our school in their personal estate plans, either in their will or through another type of planned gift. Click here to visit our new webpage dedicated to planned giving. Those who remember Belen Jesuit in their will, bequest, and other estate gifts are vital to preserving the future of the school. Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
