The Office of Mission and Formation

The Office of Mission and Formation at Belen Jesuit is entrusted with carrying on the daily mission of Catholic formation for all faculty, staff, and students. With Jesus Christ as the cornerstone, the Office carries out its mission inspired by the life and teachings of St. Ignatius.

Our primary focus for each student is their spiritual and moral development. Stemming from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and participation in the communal and sacramental life of the Holy Catholic Church, each student is prepared and inspired to pursue a life of Christian service in a variety of careers and vocations. In line with the tradition of Catholic social teaching, we unapologetically promote and foster the sanctity of every human life.

Through the Office of Mission and Formation, students have opportunities to receive the Sacraments, engage in communal or personal prayer, attend retreats catered to their grade level, and engage in Christian service. All of our programs and events are aimed towards our one goal and end: to create disciples of Jesus Christ so that we may live our lives for His greater glory.
A Christ centered faith community forming "intentional disciples" as Men For Others.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
