Tis the Season to Give

Roberto E. Artiz | Director of Campus Ministry
As we begin the 2nd week of Advent and we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ, we are presented yet again with another opportunity to put into practice the words we often repeat in prayer: "to give and not to count the cost".
These words from our founder St. Ignatius of Loyola are what motivate us in continuing to share our time, talent and treasures with others.

These days of preparation and anticipation provide us with a perfect opportunity to come together again to help those less fortunate this Christmas.  We invite the entire Belen community to continue in the spirit of giving by donating new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls, ages 3 and up.  These toys will be given to children at Corpus Christi and San Juan Bosco.

There are three large boxes where toys can be dropped off: one in Campus Ministry, one in the school main office and one in the main office of the Administration building.  The deadline is Tuesday, December 13th. Click here to order a toy from our Amazon Wish List.

We thank you for always being so generous, and may God continue to bless you and your families.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
