Olga M & Carlos Saladrigas Art Gallery
Oscar Bustillo '86 was born in New York and studied alongside prominent conductors at the Peabody Institute. He has conducted orchestras in several parts of the world, including China and Europe and is currently an adjunct professor of Music Theory at Miami Dade College.

Oscar will explore what happens after a composer has the first thought from idea to performance.  The program will include him playing original works for piano and works of classical masters such as Beethoven and Schubert. The night will also feature the United States premiere of Bustillo’s Spring Duet with Sahily Canovas and the World Debut of an original composition, Scherzando Rubato. He will also compose a piece of music inspired by paintings selected by the audience by Arturo E. Mosquera on the large wall.  Click here for more information.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
