For over 30 years, Belen Jesuit has been taking its students to the mountains of the Dominican Republic to serve and be served by the beautiful people of Santo Domingo. It pains me to think that this summer will be the exception. Unfortunately, because of the current circumstances, I have decided to halt all preparations and reservations for the mission trip. It is a timely issue considering the pressure that the airlines are placing on us to make decisions sooner rather than later. Because my concern first and foremost is for our students, it is more prudent for now to cancel the summer mission trip. The business office will be refunding your initial payments and checks will arrive at the address on the check by April 15th.
It pains me to think that BYM will not take place. If, and only if, circumstances change and we see a clearing in the dark, pandemic clouds that hang over us, we can make arrangements to salvage the experience. But for now, it is best we act cautiously. I count on your prayers and support.
Auspice Maria,
Fr. Willie
