Student Media

The English department is responsible for the production of our award winning yearbook, Echoes and the award winning WBLN  which airs on our YouTube channel. Additionally, our production classes produce a series of student made films and documentaries throughout the year.
Echoes is the Belen Jesuit yearbook published to record, highlight, and commemorate the events of the past school academic year. The publication is produced by the student yearbook staff through its courses and additional work outside of the classroom. The students with their advisor create the cover and all the yearbook content. The staff members are responsible for the photos, copy, captions, headlines and design of each page including attendance at events to ensure complete and accurate coverage.

The online yearbook project was made possible thanks to the dedication and work of BITS, the IT section of the Alumni Association. All yearbooks are now available to be viewed digitally, however, only those classes which have paid the Alumni Association can view their yearbook. For more information on how your class yearbook can be viewed please contact the Alumni Association at  786.621.4667.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
