Belen Jesuit is committed to assisting its students in the college admissions process. To that end, students have access to four full-time college counselors who directly assist students, and their parents, in the college selection process. Our counselors work one-on-one with students in the admission process to help them make college choices that meet their academic, spiritual, personal, and financial needs.
Freshmen are assigned a college counselor at the beginning of their high school journey so that they have a point of contact in the College Counseling Office. As freshmen and sophomores, college counselors will meet with students mostly in group settings and individually upon request.
College counselors begin working more intensely with students during the second semester of junior year in order to prepare their SAT/ACT testing timeline and begin to assemble a preliminary list of colleges.
Senior year, college counselors work closely with students to finalize their list of schools and assist them in completing applications, editing essays, informing them of scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and more.
Workshops and information sessions are held in the evenings for parents and students. These presentations are very informative and families are strongly encouraged to attend beginning freshman year.
In addition, over 200 college admission representatives attend our annual College Fair and over 100 representatives provide on-campus Information Sessions to interested juniors and seniors. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are also invited to participate in the two College Tours that take place each year.
