Sports Highlights

The fall season is beginning to wrap up and many teams have already ended their season while others are moving forward to regionals or state competition. Here’s a summary of how our Wolverines are doing so far this fall:
  • The Varsity Cross Country team won the District Championship. Adam Magoulas took first place with a time of 15:56.
  • The Varsity Swimming team came in Second place at the District Championship. Andres Wong and Hector Paz were individual District Champions. 
  • The Varsity Golf team came in 3rd Place at the Regional meet and 2nd Place at the District Championship. They finished the season with a record of 7-0.
  • The Varsity Bowling team will compete in Districts on October 30th at Bird Bowl.
  • The Varsity Football team plays for the District Championship against Southwest on Friday, October 26 at 3:30 p.m. at Tropical Park.
  • The JV Golf team finished the season with a record of 2-4.
  • The JV Football team finished the season with a record of 4-0.
  • The Middle School Cross Country team won the ACC Championship
  • The Middle School Gold Volleyball Team is undefeated will play St. Timothy for the ACC Championship on Saturday at Belen.
  • The Middle School Golf team finished the season 9-0. 
  • The Middle School Football team finished the season 5-4.
  • The 6th Grade Cross Country team finished the season undefeated and won the ACC Championship.
  • The 6th Grade Football team finished the season 8-0 and won the Tri-County Championship.
  • The 6th Grade Basketball team finished the ACC season with a record of 5-3, they still have two games against Palmer Trinity in late November.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
