Director of Student Career Development Hired

Teresa Martinez | Director of Communications
The Belen Jesuit Administration is excited to announce the hiring of Michelle Miñoso as the Director of Student Career Development.

This position was designed to enhance Belen Jesuit’s college-preparatory program by providing first-hand work opportunities, experiences, and internships to our students, and by coordinating activities and assemblies that promote the school's mission.

“Ms. Miñoso is an experienced educator who brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to this role,” said Mr. José E. Roca, principal. “We are fortunate to have an established Office of Career Development that successfully placed students in internships. With Ms. Miñoso, we look forward to continuing to expand the program and its offerings to better prepare our students for the future.”

The hiring of this position is part of our ongoing efforts to fulfill the goals outlined in the 2022 Strategic Plan. As Pillar II emphasizes Academic Excellence, Critical Thinking, and Innovation, one of its objectives is to grow this office to empower students to excel as future leaders in our community, our Church, and our world.

Since 1996, Ms. Miñoso has served the Our Lady of Lourdes Academy community, having held several positions throughout her tenure. Her most recent position was Externship Coordinator. She has a Master of Science in Educational Administration from St. Thomas University, a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University (FIU), and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from FIU.

Ms. Miñoso will begin her role at the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.

Belen Jesuit is grateful for the continued support of its faculty, staff, alumni, and families as it strives for excellence in all that it does for the greater glory of God.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba, by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the school's property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit is situated on a 34-acre site in western Dade County, just minutes away from downtown Miami.
