Battle Like a Wolverine Registration Opens

Teresa Martinez | Director of Communications
Registration is now open for the 8th annual Battle Like a Wolverine. This family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, October 12.

Since it began in 2011, nearly $70,000 has been raised. During the school-wide campaign, students wear pink ties, as well as participate in the annual run/walk. Pink ties are on sale in the Campus Store for $20. Students will be allowed to wear the pink ties throughout the month of October.

Registration for the Battle Like A Wolverine is available at www.belenjesuit.org/battlelikeawolverine. The last day to register and be guaranteed a t-shirt is September 27. The last day for online registration is October 9. Those wishing to support the cause but can’t attend the event can make their contribution online by choosing the option – Stay at Home.

The event is throughout the whole Belen campus and begins and finishes at de la Cruz Stadium. The run/walk will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. Pre-registration is $20 and same-day registration is $30 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The net proceeds from the campaign will benefit our partner, Baptist Health South Florida. Together, we strive to provide mammograms for uninsured individuals and support the Care Coaches.

For any questions regarding this event please contact Mrs. Martinez at tmartinez@belenjesuit.org.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
