Admission Season Begins

Lucila E. Marazita-Espinosa | Director of Admissions
Belen, for the past 164 years, has been educating young men in the tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola.  Our strong alumni association with over 7,500 members around the world, from Mumbai to the Philippines to the Amazonian jungles of Brazil, is a strong testament to what it means to be “men for others.”

I invite you to get to know us better by attending our annual Open House on Saturday, October 5, 2019.  This is the perfect opportunity for you and your son to find out what Belen Jesuit has to offer. You will meet teachers, administrators, counselors, coaches, and alumni who will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and share the unique and rich history of our school.  You can take a campus tour guided by members of the Faber Society, our elite student ambassadors! They will share with you first-hand accounts of their experiences and what it means to be Jesuit educated. Registration for the Open House is required and opens on September 9. You may register online for either the morning or the afternoon session.
For more information regarding our Open House please visit our website at www.belenjesuit.org/admissions/open-house.

I am also happy to announce that Belen Jesuit will now offer prospective sixth-grade families the opportunity to apply Early Decision or Regular Decision.  Early Decision is an option suitable for prospective families who know that Belen is the school of choice for their son’s education and are fully committed to enrolling their son upon admission. Early Decision candidates must apply online and pre-register for the Belen entrance exam by October 28. The entrance exam will take place on November 2.

Regular Decision is intended for prospective families who are considering Belen as one of the options for their son’s education.  Regular Decision candidates must also apply online and submit all required documentation, along with the most recent SSAT scores by January 17, 2020.  Regular Decision candidates do not sit for the Belen Jesuit entrance exam.

Prospective ninth graders must apply online and submit all required documentation by December 2, 2019.  Candidates must sit for the Belen entrance exam on December 14, 2019.

The online application process opens on September 9.  Please visit our website atwww.belenjesuit.org/admissions  for more details regarding the admissions process.

I look forward to meeting you at the Open House and guiding you through the admissions process. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Admissions Office at (786) 621-4032 or e-mail us at admissions@belenjesuit.org.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
