The new “Go Pig or Go Home” Pig Roast on Tombola Sunday will pin 7 homeroom classes in a battle for bragging rights on whose pig is better.

Each grade will be represented by the following homerooms: 6-G, 7-G, 8-B, 9-I, 10-E, 11-E, and 12-D.

“This new event is sure to become an instant Tombola classic,” said Tommy de Quesada, Dean of Men. “It’s going to be a great competition, lots of fun, and we are going to see a lot of creatively themed pigs and best of all, they are all going to taste amazing.”

VIP tickets are $20 and individual tastings are $4 each. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.belenjesuit.org/pigtastingor at the information booth during Tombola.

Special guest judges will be Father Willie, Father Alberto Garcia, and Mr. Jose E. Roca. The winner will secure the heavy weight championship belt and bragging rights. The "people's choice" will be judged by all those present at the event.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba, by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the school's property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit is situated on a 34-acre site in western Dade County, just minutes away from downtown Miami.
