The Wolverine Beat Set To Debut

Teresa Martinez | Director of Communications
Launching on Friday, September 1, the Wolverine Beat will be a weekly informational email sent to the Belen community.

“We hope that by engaging our community on a weekly basis with one central point of communication, we will be able to better communicate with our families,” said Mr. Jose E. Roca, principal. “Our intention is to send an email every Friday, listing any news that took place during that week and previewing the events and sports games for the upcoming week. Hopefully, this will help to encourage more student participation and inspire more people to support our Wolverines during home games.”

Belen Jesuit has a healthy social media presence. The community is invited to follow our pages on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. Additionally, the school uses SmugMug to share pictures of events.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba, by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the school's property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit is situated on a 34-acre site in western Dade County, just minutes away from downtown Miami.
