Class of 2025 Banner

Br. Hunter D'Armond | Mission and Formation
(The following explanation of the Senior Banner was read by Santiago Martinez-Cid '25 and the banner was presented by David Garrido '25 at the Baccalaureate Mass on May 24, 2025, at the Our Lady of Belen Chapel.)

As we prepared this year’s banner in Senior Peer Ministry, two key themes stood out—Good Seed and Adoration. Throughout our time at Belen, our priests, teachers, coaches, and classmates have nurtured our faith, planting seeds in our hearts that invite us to encounter Christ now and in the years ahead.

We now carry the responsibility to deepen our relationship with God. As young men formed in the Ignatian tradition, we strive to do all things for the greater glory of God—Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (AMDG). The tree on the front of our banner symbolizes the good seed of faith planted in us, while the monstrance on the back reminds us to adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament and in everything we do.

As we nurture this seed of faith and seek to adore Jesus in every moment, we ask for His grace to lead us on this journey.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
