Alumni Night

Javier Mariscal | Class of 1986
This Saturday night Belen is hosting its annual Alumni Night.  As always, this party promises to be a fabulous celebration for alumni, parents, faculty and staff alike.
There will be excellent music, delicious food and an open bar during the festivities. Add to this the cost of only $35 per person, and you have the makings of phenomenal party.

As luck would have it, this event marks the beginning of Homecoming Week at Belen, a week shrouded in tradition dating back to the 19th century, when universities chose one weekend to invite their alumni to return “home” to their alma maters to enjoy a football game and celebrate. Therefore, it’s only fitting that the theme of the party is “Welcome Home.”  Home is a word that immediately invokes the feelings of belonging, comfort, family and love.  This Saturday night, the Belen alumni will be able to come “home” and enjoy a fabulous evening among “family.”

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba, by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the school's property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit is situated on a 34-acre site in western Dade County, just minutes away from downtown Miami.
