Three Belen Jesuit Student Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

The Belen community is proud to announce that three student athletes signed national letters of intent to play their respective sports at the collegiate level. The signing ceremony took place on April 30 in the Belen Jesuit Dining Hall.
 
“We are thrilled and proud of each of these seniors who have been so committed to their game and worked hard to get to this point in their lives,” said Carlos Barquin, Athletic Director “Each is headed to a program that is a perfect fit for their future, both on the field or water and in the classroom.”

The following students signed national letters of intent:
Julien Rodriguez - Crew, University of Delaware
Aramis Castano - Football, John Carroll University
Aaron Ramirez - Baseball, Miami-Dade College

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
