Good morning!
Welcome back (virtually again)! Hopefully, you guys had a restful and safe Christmas break. Hopefully, you were able to get some sleep, eat really good food, and experience the beauty and grace of the birth of Christ. Not to mention enjoy the coming of 2021.
I think this new year was awaited with great expectation. Since 2020 was pretty much a dud, the new series of 12 months comes with hope. Although I have said in the past, it’s what we make of it that counts. The challenges of the past year are nothing more than opportunities for us to rise and deliver. We have great potential as men of faith. The year 2020 was a chance to face adversity head-on as a community and still succeed in doing good.
As for 2021, it’s another great opportunity, even though it hasn’t started off well with the Dolphins losing and missing the playoffs. At least we seem to be trending up and did much better than anyone expected. If anyone would have told me back in September we would have 10 victories, I would have been ecstatic. The problem is every year I believe we are going to the Super Bowl. Not to worry, our day will come.
This year though we have to get ready for great things. The vaccine is around the corner, the seniors will be graduating and have already started getting into some great schools, a fresh new crop of sixth and ninth graders are being drafted, and progress in different areas is being made.
We are on track for 2021 being the year we complete and consecrate our new chapel and hopefully break ground on our new athletic facility. Like the Dolphins, we too are trending up. Unlike the Dolphins, we’ve been up for a long time. All of it is due to our great students and families, our committed alumni base, and our extraordinary faculty and staff.
Yes sir, 2021 will be a great year. So, sharpen your pencils, charge your iPads, cut your hair, and wash your uniforms, because we are hitting the ground running. I look forward to seeing you guys back on campus on Thursday.
Our Lady of Belen... pray for us!
Auspice Maria,
