Father Willie gave the following announcement of the results of the Tombola Parent Challenge today. Click here to watch the video announcement.

Hello Belen Families!

Last week was an incredible week! We kicked things off with the Tombola Mass and Parent Challenge on Sunday, April 18th, and the announcement of a 1-million dollar anonymous gift by an alumnus. Then on Wednesday, the 21st the Miami-Dade County Commission approved our plan to build a new Athletic Facility and additional parking on-campus. And on Friday, the 23rd I had the great pleasure of announcing a 2-million dollar major gift from the Shanley family. It truly was an unbelievable week!

Now, I am very excited to announce that the winners of the Parent Challenge are the CLASS OF 2027!! Joining me are members of the sixth-grade class! But in all honesty, the real winner is Belen Jesuit!

Because of the tremendous generosity from all our parents, I’m very proud to share that over 165-thousand dollars were raised in 7 days by 574 families! But wait, there’s more! Even though we didn’t have a traditional Tombola this year, our sponsors still supported us! Thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, the Sarria Family, and our other sponsors, we can add 25-thousand dollars to that number bringing it to a grand total of just over $190,000 that will go towards the Annual Fund for Belen!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Parent Challenge. Thank you to all our parents for their support and trust in us! And a special thank you to the alumni who participated in the Alumni Tombola Challenge that was held a few months ago. Now, let’s end the year strong and better than ever! God bless you! Our Lady of Belen, Pray for us!

Auspice Maria,

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
