Get Ready to Tee Off

Corporate registration is now open for the 20th Annual Fr. Izquierdo Memorial Golf Tournament. This event is a joint venture between the Advancement and Alumni Offices and fills up quickly every year. The tournament will be held on Friday, March 1 at the Melreese Golf Course in Miami.

Golfers are encouraged register their companies as sponsors as soon as possible to ensure you have a spot on the green. It is a beautiful afternoon for alumni, parents, teachers and friends to get together and raise funds for the school’s Financial Assistance Program.

“Our tournament is known for having an atmosphere of fun and providing participants with excellent goodie bags,” said Alberto "Tico" Gutierrez ’88, Golf Tournament Committee Co-Chair. “Every year we get people wishing they had registered in time so please if you want to join us for a great day on the golf course make sure to sign up early.  Honestly, we don’t have any future PGA golfers among us, instead we have some golfers that are very good at giving us "alternative facts" on their scorecards. “

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
