CATHOLIC-JESUIT ETHOS
At Belen Jesuit, families find more than just strong academics—they discover a community rooted in Catholic tradition, Jesuit education, and the timeless values of St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The Importance of a Catholic Education
The mission of the Catholic school is the integral formation of students, so that they may be true to their condition as Christ’s disciples and as such work effectively for the evangelization of culture and for the common good of society.

LIVING THE MAGIS
At Belen Jesuit, students are taught to live the Magis—to go beyond what's expected, strive for excellence, and do everything with purpose, always for the greater glory of God.
Alberto Sosa ’26 FL District of Key Club Past-Lt. Governor
At Belen Jesuit, I have discovered a sense of purpose through service. Being part of Key Club since my freshman year has allowed me to give back, meet new people, and make a difference in ways I never expected. Every person I meet leaves an imprint on me and helps shape the man I am becoming. Being a Man for Others is not just a phrase; it is a way of living that guides how we grow and lead. This commitment to helping others has given me new perspectives, challenged me, and created moments of learning that I will carry with me for life.
CURA PERSONALIS
It's a core value in Jesuit education and spirituality, emphasizing individualized attention to the unique needs and circumstances of each person, including their intellectual, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Mr. Brendan McCauley Dean of Mission and Formation
IGNATIAN GENTLEMAN
Starting in 6th grade, students at Belen learn what it means to be a Catholic gentleman. From how they communicate to how they lead, we help them build confidence, develop strong interpersonal skills, and carry themselves with respect—whether in class, in conversation, or out in the world.
Belen holds every young man accountable to their personal magis from the moment they enter until long after they graduate. Our vocation is, and will always be, to bring God's message to those involved in that industry and leave it better than we found it. That's what a Belen graduate does, and that's how an Ignatian gentleman lives.

FOSTERING FAMILY
At Belen, we’re committed to nurturing not just each student’s spiritual life, but also their families'. Through moments like adoration, Masses, pilgrimages, and grade-level events, we create opportunities for families to grow closer—to each other and to Christ.

ROOTED IN TRADITION
Belen’s story began in Cuba in 1854 and evolved in 1961 when exiled and reopened in Miami. Rooted in tradition, Belen has grown into a vibrant community shaped by the diverse cultures of South Florida. We proudly honor our Cuban heritage and Jesuit foundations, while embracing the rich tapestry of backgrounds that now define who we are—united by faith, resilience, and brotherhood.
AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM
“Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam”—For the greater glory of God—is a core Jesuit value and the heart of all we do at Belen. It inspires us to live, learn, and serve with purpose
We believe that the education of each student centers on the formation of the whole person - the academic, spiritual, physical and social components.
Mr. José E. Roca ’84, Principal

ALMA MATER
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.

ESTO VIR
At Belen Jesuit, this means becoming the man God calls you to be: grounded in faith, driven by purpose, and shaped by compassion, courage, and service. Through formation rooted in Ignatian values, our students grow into men of integrity who think deeply, lead boldly, and live for others.
Mr. Andrés De Angulo ’93 Dean of Men
MEN FOR OTHERS
At Belen Jesuit, being a man for others means using your talents to serve those in need and stand for what’s right. Inspired by the vision of Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., our students learn that true greatness comes not from personal success but from living with compassion, seeking justice, and working for the good of others.
