BELEN YOUTH MISSIONS

For over 40 years, Belen students have participated in missionary work in the most impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic. In connection with other Jesuit priests from the Caribbean Province serving in the Dominican Republic, we have engaged our students in service projects aimed at benefiting rural communities across the country.

Our students share life, faith and work with campesino communities who become our teachers in the faith and, as friends in Christ.

Together with the local people, our students have participated in the construction of small schools, chapels, and bridges. In addition, we have been able to set up medical missions to these places with the help of Belen parents who are physicians or nurses.

BYM IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Belen Youth Missions is open only to students who have completed 11th grade. Registration information is sent via email in mid-January.

Please note registration is limited to 60 current Belen Jesuit juniors and is conditional on their academic and disciplinary records. Anyone who registers is not necessarily committed to attend, nor is he guaranteed to be selected for the trip. Once the first 60 slots are filled, a waiting list will be available on the registration webpage. Students wishing to attend BYM will not be able to participate in summer school.
