LITURGY & WORSHIP
Belen Jesuit is a Catholic Preparatory school missioned to promote the values of community prayer and worship. All members of our school community, including non-Catholic students, attend Masses and other liturgical celebrations held on special days throughout the school year. All our students participate in school-wide community celebrations of the Eucharist.
Mass is held on school days at 7:15 a.m. in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Each grade attends Mass on a rotating schedule throughout the year in the Our Lady of Belen Chapel. Students are always encouraged to attend when they feel the call to devotion.
School-wide Masses are held at least once a month in the Our Lady of Belen Chapel and are noted on the school calendar.
Students engage in traditional Catholic Christian devotions, such as the Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, Solemn Daytime Prayer, and the Stations of the Cross, during appropriate liturgical times.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available to our students at any time, but is particularly emphasized during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent.
Eighth-grade students have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at Belen Jesuit. They are prepared through their theology class. If a student has not been baptized or received their first Holy Communion and wishes to do so, he should contact the Mission and Formation Office. |
