STEAM PROGRAM
THE ROBERTO C. GOIZUETA INNOVATION CENTER
The Belen Jesuit STEAM Program is anchored in the Roberto C. Goizueta Innovation Center. This state-of-the-art facility opened in 2020 and continues to elevate academic excellence on campus. This 8,000-square-foot center features flexible classrooms, a fully equipped makerspace, and a dedicated science and engineering lab designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Students have access to advanced tools—from 3D printers and laser cutters to high-performance computers loaded with professional design software. The Innovation Center also serves as the headquarters for our award-winning Robotics teams and supports a wide range of hands-on extracurricular opportunities that deepen learning and fuel innovation.
At Belen Jesuit, we are committed to providing students with rigorous STEAM instruction that prepares them to become problem-solvers in a global society.

WHAT IS STEAM?
While STEAM encompasses the distinct fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, the program’s strength lies in how it weaves these disciplines together. Students learn to approach challenges in an applied, interdisciplinary way, gaining the confidence to think creatively and solve problems collaboratively. The STEAM Program immerses them in real-world experiences and hands-on projects that ignite curiosity and deepen understanding. By pursuing this advanced course of study, students can elevate their interests, strengthen their academic foundation, and step into college with meaningful experience and direction.

ABOUT OUR BENEFACTOR
The STEAM Program was funded, in part, by a generous $1.5 million gift made by The Goizueta Foundation. “The Goizueta family and Belen have been intertwined for nearly seven decades, beginning with Roberto Goizueta, who graduated from El Colegio de Belén in 1949. His career led him to build Coca-Cola into one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Through it all, he never forgot his alma mater,” said school President Fr. Guillermo García-Tuñón, S.J. ’87. “Goizueta was very generous to our school. He made our gymnasium possible and established the Goizueta Scholars Program. Even in death, with the support of The Goizueta Foundation, his commitment endures. Their continued support will help implement the vision for Belen’s future and echo Goizueta’s love for Belen and commitment to a great education.”
My father’s lifelong love of learning, which was fostered while a student at Belen, is reflected in the grantmaking of The Goizueta Foundation. We hope that this grant will help today’s Belen students discover that same thirst for knowledge that my father embraced.
